I think I speak for everyone when I say what a year it has been. I’ve experienced an abundance of positivity – from meeting wonderful new people, to strengthening my existing relationships to discovering new ways to achieve both balance and happiness in my everyday life.
But what is positivity without negativity? Are we able to appreciate the good without the bad? Of course negativity has crept into my year – proving how important it is to work hard at being the best version of yourself every day.
From panic attacks, to heartbreak, to days where things didn’t look like they were ever going to work themselves out – negativity has definitely been there to create balance. And I’m thankful for that.
Why am I thankful for that? Because if I didn’t have days where I woke up feeling foggy-brained and disconnected – I wouldn’t truly be grateful for the days where I felt energetic and fulfilled. I wouldn’t be able to identify what habits lead me to positivity and which lead me to feel negative. And how is one able to be the best version of themselves without being able to identify such things?
One of the biggest lessons to take away from such a year is to both realize and accept that not every day will be an abundance of good vibes and friendly people.
You won’t always make your bus, pay your bills on time or rock that interview.
Some days you will check everything off of your to-do list and still have energy for a workout. Other days Netflix will ask you if you’re still there several times.
But once you accept this, you can learn to forgive yourself and move on. Then use those bad days as motivation to make the next one full of positivity.
Once you change your perspective you can begin to manifest the things you want out of life.
With all of that being said, I wanted to share my New Year’s resolutions with you. I’ve decided this year that my resolutions will double as daily mantras so I am more likely to manifest them.
RESOLUTION #1: I will allow only positive things to enter my life.
Whether it be a relationship, a friendship, a career opportunity or even a new hobby – I will only allow things to enter my life that will positively affect it and help me to be best version of myself.
RESOLUTION #2: I will walk into every situation expecting nothing less than the best.
It’s important to trust that everything happens for a reason. Tell yourself that every situation that comes your way is meant to be and will bring you a blessing or a lesson.
RESOLUTION #3: I will believe in myself and trust I will be successful in everything that I do.
I know this one will be extremely difficult, but keeping a positive perspective is so important when you’re wanting to achieve your goals and be a person who are proud to be. You have to act like a boss before you become one.
RESOLUTION #4: I will believe I am worthy of health, wealth and love.
I feel like self-love is something we all struggle with from time to time. Once you believe you are worthy of these things, they will come.
I hope this post leaves some of you feeling inspired to enter 2017 with positive thoughts and determination to be the best version of yourselves.
What are some of your New Year’s Resolutions?
